As I sit here, I need to tell you exactly what is happening at this moment. I am sitting at the dinning room table, reading over a number of different blogs pondering what to write; In the background are the sounds of a bassoon; one note at a time, not quite in time with the metronome.
Yes, that is my lovely wife during her bassoon lesson with a student who has just recently taken up the bassoon. I'm not really supposed to be paying attention, but it's a little hard to ignore the large horns honking in the next room!
Bills paid, read the few new emails that I had and now on to a little time to myself. Not sure how much more of this free time I'm going to be having after the baby is born, so I will take advantage now and enjoy every bit I get later.
Nothing special has happened today. It rained all day, was hot and muggy, and hot. I guess that I will have to get used to the hot part a little more these days; living south of the border tends to mean that the average temperature is a little higher than I'm used to. Got to work in good time, and made sure that I captured all the things I had been expected to do from the meeting late yesterday afternoon. I'm going to be an MC for a change of command ceremony. It's not going to be anything special, just a normal history of x, y, and z; they give their speeches and we go home. Supposed to be done within an hour.
Had another meeting right at the end of the day today. I believe the host was spot on when he said, 'seems what we've accomplished in the last hour was introductions and we're no further than we were in January.' Nature of the machine I suppose. People move around so much, there is so much going on at once that if you don't give enough priority to certain things then they just seem to slip off the radar until the next person screams about it. I think what we were talking about today will become my new pet project and I'll have to try and push it as far and as fast as I can in the coming months.
And home now, just listening to Lisa and her student honking their horns in the other room. I think I may have heard a bit of 'twinkle twinkle' for a few minutes, but that was as close to music as it gets. Very fun though and I enjoy every bit of listening to her teach. I hope she loves it as much as I love hearing it!
I'll probably do some sort of workout this evening, after Lisa has completed her lesson, but I'm still not quite sure which one I will do, as both of the workouts I haven't completed are just crazy. Not looking forward to either of them.
We'll see how that goes though. It's Tuesday, so will have to get those hamburgers ready and whatever else we want to have on the side!
